    Hunt for hidden treasures with Ian and Diego on our serene truffle farm. Explore our paddocks on a guided tour in a tranquil rural Tasmanian setting. Experience the thrill of unearthing a freshly ripened black truffle.

    This experience is ideal for people who have their own planned itinerary for exploring the region and have less time to spare for an immersive experience.

    You have the opportunity to purchase fresh truffles and other truffle products from our farm as souvenirs.

    Truffle Hunt, Lunch & Wine Masterclass

    Discover the best of Tasmanian truffles and sparkling wine on this exclusive experience. Begin your day at Pipers Brook Truffles with a guided hunt alongside Diego the Kelpie, followed by a gourmet three-course truffle lunch. Then, head to House of Arras Vineyard, where Flinders the Border Collie leads you through the vines to explore the art of winemaking, finishing with a tasting of Australia's most awarded sparkling wines.

  • Pipers Brook Truffles is located 45 minutes northeast of Launceston. Use your preferred navigation app and search for "Pipers Brook Truffles" or "828 Pipers Brook Road (Yaralla)".

    If you're coming from:

    • Golconda Road: We're about 8km down the road on the right.

    • Bridport Road: We're about 5.5km down the road on the left.

    Look out for the Pipers Brook Truffles sign.

  • Those taking part in our 'Truffle Hunt and Wine Masterclass' tour will need to provide their own transportation between venues. The drive takes approximately 15 minutes through the picturesque Pipers Brook wine region. Please consult the provided map linked below for directions.

  • As a small family business, we kindly ask that you carefully review your schedule and make any necessary cancellations as early as possible to avoid losing any portion of your booking fee.

    • For cancellations made up to 48 hours before the scheduled tour, a full refund will be provided.

    • For cancellations made after the 48-hour window, a 50% booking fee will be retained, and the remaining 50% will be refunded.

    No-shows on the day of the tour will forfeit the entire booking fee.

  • Please contact us to discuss your requirements if you have any accessibility concerns, as the tour takes place mostly outdoors on uneven ground.

  • Children under 5 are welcome on the tour at no cost, but we will not be able to provide them with food. Please book as normal for older children, and we will provide catering for them. As the outdoor tour takes place on uneven ground, we recommend that you bring a baby carrier as prams will be difficult to push.

  • Footwear & Clothing
    Tasmania's winter weather can be unpredictable, so please dress for wet and cold conditions. The terrain is uneven and often muddy; we recommend sturdy, closed-toe shoes and a warm jacket. Don't worry about umbrellas or shoe covers, as we'll provide those.

    After the Hunt
    If you are joining us on our ‘Truffle Hunt & Lunch’ experience; once our truffle hunt is complete, we'll head back to the lodge to warm up by the fire and enjoy a delicious lunch.

  • If you have an assistance animal, please contact us directly to discuss how we can best accommodate them. Unfortunately, due to biosecurity concerns, we are unable to allow other pets on the farm.

  • Please inform us of any specific dietary requirements when booking. Our 3-course set menu changes seasonally to incorporate the freshest produce available.

    • In the case of extreme weather the schedule may be changed prior to your tour. We will contact you personally to advise of any schedule changes due to extreme weather.

    • Truffle growth varies throughout the season. While we aim for each guest to harvest a truffle, we cannot guarantee it.

    • Harvested truffles are not included in the tour, but fresh truffles are available for purchase.
